TOUR SEKY is partnering with Americas Byways (byways.org) to install trailhead signage along recreational trails that meet the guidelines set by Americas Byways. Signage is currently being fabricated and will be installed at approved trails along the Country Music Highway, Red River Gorge and Wilderness Road National Scenic Byways and the Cumberland Cultural Heritage State Scenic Byway.

Although fire has temporarily closed the Stearns Restaurant, the Big South Fork Scenic Railway and other businesses located in historic Stearns are still fully operational. Please excuse our "mess" while crews work diligently to restore this amazing piece of history to its original condition.

TOUR Southern and Eastern Kentucky (TOUR SEKY) is excited to announce Judy Barton, President/CEO of the Bell County Tourism Commission will be joining its Board of Directors. Barton was named to the Board during TOUR SEKY’s January Board Meeting. Barton has been involved in the tourism industry for more than three decades. In addition to her role as President/CEO of the Bell County Tourism Commission, she serves as Chairperson of the Eastern Highlands South Tourism Region for the state and is a member of the Advisory Board for the Kentucky Official Visitor Guide. April is Redbud Month in Southern and Eastern Kentucky. Many exciting events are planned throughout April in celebration of the native Redbud Tree.
April 2, 2012: Redbud Health Awareness Walk from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm (ET) at the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame in Renfro Valley, KY. The first 500 registered participants will receive Redbud seedlings, tote bags, free lunch from Subway and other gifts and prizes. Free health screenings will also be available. TOUR Southern and Eastern Kentucky (TOUR SEKY) awarded the APEX Award to Carolyn Mounce during its 11th Annual Tourism Forum November 29, 2011. Mounce is the Executive Director of the Somerset-Pulaski County Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB).
APEX stands for Achievement, Professionalism, Excellence, and X-traordinary in tourism.
Mounce was chosen for this award because of her tireless efforts to improve tourism opportunities not only in Pulaski County, but throughout the entire Lake Cumberland Region. Read more »

TOUR Southern and Eastern Kentucky (TOUR SEKY) Volunteer and Somerset-Pulaski County Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Carolyn Mounce, was named Member of the Year at the Kentucky Travel Industry Association’s (KTIA) Annual Fall Conference on Tourism. More than 20 participants turned out September 12, 2011 to take part in TOUR Southern and Eastern Kentucky’s (TOUR SEKY) “Shining STAR” Customer Service Program. Michelle Allen, Director of Programs, conducted the training at the Frenchburg Community and Clark Energy Building. The Training was organized by Lola Thomas. Employees of various businesses and volunteers participated in the two hour presentation. “Everyone can use a refresher course in customer service,” said Michelle Allen Director of Programs for TOUR SEKY.
