Highlands Museum & Discovery Center Gives Parents a Chance to “Catch Up” on Holiday Shopping

Ashland-Thursday, December 23 from 1-5PM the “Eve Before Christmas Eve” will be held at Highlands Museum and Discovery. Parents that need to catch up on Christmas shopping have the opportunity to drop their children off at the museum at 1PM and get out for a couple of hours to finish up last minute gifts. Children will enjoy a special reading of the Polar Express, play time in the Discovery Center, arts and crafts, and snacks. Children ages 4-13 are welcome, cost $15 per child, $10 for additional children. Pre-registration preferred. Read more »

TOUR SEKY PURCHASES FOUR WAGONS FOR QUEST PARTICIPANTS AT HOMEPLACE ON GREEN RIVER

CUMBERLAND GAP NATIONAL HISTORICAL PARK FEATURED IN NATIONAL PUBLICATION

Somerset, KY – TOUR Southern and Eastern Kentucky (TOUR SEKY) is excited to announce Cumberland Gap National Historical Park, Middlesboro, KY is featured in the November 2010 issue of “Blue Ridge Outdoors”. The article “The South’s Best Kept Secret” highlights the beauty and seclusion offered at the park. Park officials say “You can set foot on most of the trails on the mountain and usually never see another person. TOUR SEKY HOSTS ADVISORY MEETING IN LONDON

Somerset, KY - TOUR Southern and Eastern Kentucky (TOUR SEKY) hosted its second Advisory meeting of 2010 in London, KY. The meeting was held November 10th at the Heritage Hills Banquet Hall.

One representative from each county in TOUR SEKY’s 47 county service area serves as an Advisory Member. During the meeting TOUR SEKY staff members discussed current projects the organization is working on and listened to feedback from the group. Read more »

Somerset, KY – TOUR Southern and Eastern Kentucky (TOUR SEKY) will hold its annual Tourism Forum December 6, 2010 at The Center for Rural Development in Somerset, KY. The Annual Forum is TOUR SEKY’s yearly meeting of tourism professionals, elected officials and tourism related businesses. Registration is required by November 22, 2010. Somerset, KY – TOUR Southern and Eastern Kentucky (TOUR SEKY) presented a TOUR Mate System to the Middlesboro-Bell County Tourism Office in late October. The TOUR MATE is a self guided audio tour box. It will be located in the Tourism Information Gazebo on US 25 E in Middlesboro.

The box is powered by a hand crank and is weather proof. The box highlights popular Bell County tourism attractions. “This box is a wonderful tool that will provide visitors with information outside of the tourism office,” said Jeff Crowe, TOUR SEKY President/CEO. Read more »
