TOUR Southern and Eastern Kentucky (TOUR SEKY) awarded the Governmental Tourism Impact Award to Gail Wright, Executive Director of the Gateway Area Development District (Gateway ADD). Wright received the award during TOUR SEKY’s 11th Annual Tourism Forum November 29, 2011.

The Governmental Tourism Impact Award goes to an individual who is either an elected official or government employee who recognizes the importance of the tourism industry not only for their county but the economic benefit it is to the region as a whole. “Ms. Wright consistently goes above and beyond the required level of work to keep the community involved and informed of tourism opportunities and programs in the region she serves,” said Jeff Crowe TOUR SEKY President/CEO.

TOUR SEKY hosted the Annual Forum and Awards Luncheon at The Center for Rural Development in Somerset, KY. More than 300 tourism professionals, elected officials and tourism business representatives took part in the event. The theme was “Tourism, It’s a Jungle Out There!”
