CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENT PROGRAM LAUNCHED

February 27, 2012

TOUR Southern and Eastern Kentucky (TOUR SEKY) hosted its first “Shining STAR” Secret Service meeting on February 14, 2012. Representatives from two communities received secret service training during the meeting. The agents were selected during TOUR SEKY’s 11th Annual Tourism Forum held at The Center for Rural Development in Somerset, KY on November 29, 2011.

The “Shining STAR” (Service, Training, Achievement and Recognition) Customer Service training focuses on service, attitude, teamwork and consistency. Telephone etiquette, non-verbal communication and numerous other topics are included in the training to increase customer satisfaction.

With more than 1,400 employees trained, TOUR SEKY has expanded the “Shining STAR” program to create the secret service component. This will allow community members to serve as secret service agents by leaving a comment card evaluating their experience at local hotels, restaurants, or retail stores. The recipients of the customer service comment card are encouraged to contact the TOUR SEKY office to receive their results and take advantage of free “Shining STAR” Customer Service Program.

With this being a pilot program, TOUR SEKY is beginning implementation in London and Somerset with plans for rapid expansion throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The agents will be coming to your town soon! They will be looking for smiling faces and great customer service in banks, government offices, health care facilities, lodging, dining and other retail establishments.
